Oprah’s Inspiring Last Show

We will miss your show!

I have to say I hope that you all took away all the same love and inspiration that we did from Oprah’s Finale Show. In case you missed it, Oprah spent her final hour thanking and encouraging her viewers and all of those that have been watching, laughing, crying and growing with her. There were no celebrities or give-a-ways hidden under the seats. It was just Oprah with some very powerful messages.  We want to share her message because it affected us not only as individuals but also as creators of Soulgineering.

Oprah began the show sharing with us the ultimate lesson she has learned throughout the last 25 years:

The power to change your own lives is within you.”

Oprah is an excellent example of a person who embraced that power and created something meaningful. She wasn’t born rich or from a celebrity family.  If anything, statistically she had less chances of becoming one of the world’s most influential and richest people then most of us. But she knew she had the power within her to make her life whatever she wanted it to be.

“We all are called and your real job in life is to find that calling and do it.”

Maybe it is just a coincidence that this week we launched Soulgineering, maybe it’s not. But in the matter of just days, we wrote stories about Kirstie Alley, Lady Gaga and now Oprah.  We have chosen these stories because despite their fame, they are regular, normal people just like us. Oprah is and was just a regular person but she is a person that lives with passion and purpose.

Oprah also talked about the many guests she had on her 4,165 shows.  She found that the one thing that all these guests had in common – whether her guest was someone that overcame insurmountable challenges, abusers or child molesters – they all needed the same thing:  VALIDATION.  Is it also a coincidence that the first featured video we had on the day of our launch was a short film called “Validation” by Kurt Kuenne? For us, we are not sure where Soulgineering will take us or what will happen in the future but we certainly felt validated the moment those words left her mouth. We are not writers or journalists, we are not teachers and we are not professionals in any of the fields we discuss.  We are just two people who have questions about life.  Why do I make the analogy?  Because we are lit up and we are doing something that brings us happiness.  We get to live in our passion, and stay up until 4am to write a story we found interesting.   We wake up feeling excited about what we’re going to do next.

If you haven’t fully listened to Oprah in the last 25 years, then listen now. She is out of the spot light and a lot of us will miss her and hearing people talking about her but here is the gift she left us with and the greatest tribute we can give to her… be your own Oprah. Take the time you need to listen yourself. Oprah told you how. Listen and at first it will sound like a whisper but what is that whisper telling you? What is it saying to you? Will you listen?

If your passion is to be a parent, then be a great one. If your passion is to drive around in a big rig, then get driving.  If you always wanted to be teacher, then teach and teach whatever you’re passionate about. The world is your stage and in her wisdom, Oprah asked and we also ask

What is your platform?
