Trust Your Intuition and The Right Choices Will Always Be Made

What you choose to create in your day, and what you wish to experience – is entirely up to you.

Amidst such a choice, you are truly the only one who must decide exactly what your experiences will be, and how they will come to be experienced by you.

Today, in the understanding and consideration of this internal power, always be willing to follow your intuition, whenever important choices must be made, by you.

As you remain guided from within by your intuition, may you go on to create and experience, not just all that you want, but all that will come to benefit you in your life – and nothing less.

“In creating the day that I
wish to experience, let me follow
my intuition and create – only
that which benefits me.”

The Fisherman and the American

A boat docked in a tiny village. An American tourist complimented the fisherman on the quality of his fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.

“Not very long,” answered the fisherman.

“But then, why didn’t you stay out longer and catch more?” asked the American.

The fisherman explained that his small catch was sufficient to meet his needs and those of his family.

The American asked, “But what do you do with the rest of your time?”

“I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, and take a siesta with my wife. In the evenings, I go into the village to see my friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs. I have a full life.”

The American interrupted, “I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you! You should start by fishing longer every day. You can then sell the extra fish you catch. With the extra revenue, you can buy a bigger boat.”

“And after that?” asked the fisherman.

“With the extra money the larger boat will bring, you can buy a second one and a third one and so on until you have an entire fleet of trawlers. Instead of selling your fish to a middle man, you can then negotiate directly with the processing plants and maybe even open your own plant. You can then leave this little village and move to Mexico City, Los Angeles, or even New York City! From there you can direct your huge new enterprise.”

“How long would that take?” asked the fisherman.

“Twenty, perhaps twenty-five years,” replied the American.

“And after that?”

“Afterwards? Well my friend, that’s when it gets really interesting,” answered the American, laughing. “When your business gets really big, you can start buying and selling stocks and make millions!”

“Millions? Really? And after that?” asked the fisherman.

“After that you’ll be able to retire, live in a tiny village near the coast, sleep late, play with your children, catch a few fish, take a siesta with your wife and spend your evenings drinking and enjoying your friends.”

And the moral of this story is: ……… Know where you’re going in life… you may already be there.

Before I Die…

What if you could turn your neighborhood eyesores into walls of sharing and self-discovery?

Candy Chang, an installation artist and urban planner, took primer, chalk, a stencil and spray paint to create a “Before I die…” wall that any passerby can write on to let the world know what they would like to do before they die.  The question that spurred creation of the wall:

What if we could use public space to share and learn what matters most to the people around us?

Instead of looking at an abandoned house, why not grab a piece of chalk and let your fellow neighbors know what’s important to you?

The responses vary from the hilarious to the somber and serious.  In a Juxtapoz Magazine interview, Candy describes what her answers would be:

Before I die I want to enjoy more cities with the people I love.
Before I die I want to fool around with public space.
Before I die I want to live in an old hotel and read books for weeks.

The original Before I die wall was in New Orleans.  Since it was started it has been taken down when the property was purchased by new owners.  However, Candy has created a virtual wall at http://beforeidie.cc/ where you can submit your answers and look at what other people consider important.

Here’s small sampling of answers:

Before I die I want to live :-) .

Before I die I want to mean something to someone..

Before I die I want to sing the song I was born to sing in front of 10,000 people..

Before I die I’d like to find my passion. I’d like to find something I’m so passionate about that I’d write it up on that wall. Then I’d want to do it. Then I could die..

Before I die I want to have seen my generation love the next generation more than itself and leave a legacy that will let them know they are loved deeply, matter more and will have a lasting positive impact..

Before I die I want to make sure my mother is proud of me. I want to make sure my daughter is successful. I want to be the person I once was..

Before I die I want to stop refering to myself as the person I hate the most..

Before I die I want to be the mom I wasn’t prepared to be four years ago.
