From Suicide to Self Love
Sitting on the bathroom floor puking my guts out, I made a resolution that I intended to keep: I would never ever try to commit suicide again. At the time I didn’t know if I had been successful at stopping the pills from killing me, but I had the sudden realization that I didn’t really want to die. No one was worth dying for, not even someone whom I loved with all my heart. So I stopped, hid the suicide note under the bed, and went to the hospital in the morning to get my stomach pumped. It all started at age 14 when I met someone that I fell madly in love with. At the time I thought I knew it all and after seven years of dating, I found out that I didn’t. Suffice it to say that I married for love and purposefully turned a blind eye to what everyone was telling me: that he wasn’t the ... Read More »

Accept Yourself and You will be Happy
We all struggle with our own feelings of self worth at some time or another. However, no one ever stops to think that the answer is to heal yourself from within rather than waiting for someone to love you, or until you get the job or house or car that you like. Nadia Khalil, author of Origins of Truth and Little Wing, tells us just how important it is to heal your own soul: Healing your soul is truly in your hands. Healing by telling yourself that you care about you. That you want to be prudent to your soul. That you want to be your best and that sometimes when you don’t feel you are your best simply ask yourself why? And then tell yourself, I love you anyway. Accept that you are not perfect, that you are love and love in itself is perfection, and in that perfection of love and not your actions you have room to ... Read More »
